Construction of model Muglin bridge completed

DAMAULI: Construction of Nepal’s unique and model bridge over Trishuli river in Muglin has been completed.

The bridge will connect Muglin of Chitwan district with Abukhairani of Tanahun district, Bridge Project Sector Number 2 Madyaarea Patandhoka Lalitpur said.

Ramesh Subedi, project engineer, claimed that 160-metres arch-bridge is the unique and model bridge in Nepal. He further said within a month, vehicles will be allowed to ply on the bridge.

Round arch bridges are more suited to himalayan national like Nepal, Subedi claimed.

The new bridge was constructed after road accidents rose unexpectedly at the dilapidated bridge which was constructed in 1975.

After the construction of the bridge, vehicular movement will ease in Pokhara, Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahun, Baglung, Parbat, Syanjha, Mustang, Manang, among other districts in the region.

The bridge was constructed with an estimated budge of Rs 120 million, Subedi shared.
