POKHARA: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered to release Journalist Arjun Giri, who was arrested on the charge of cybercrime under the electronic transaction act law, on a general date on Thursday.
A single bench of Justice Ambar Raj Paudel ordered to release the journalist, today.
Earlier, CIB had detained Karki from Pokhara, after local businessman Bipendra Batas had filed a defamation case against Giri in Kathmandu, after the weekly published a news on Batas’ involvement in a land-fraud case on April 5.
Giri is the editor of Tandav Weekly (tandavweekly.com) and member of Nepal Journalists Forum, Kaski Chapter.
