SURKHET: Tribhuvan Army Club defeated Midwest Cricket Club by 107 runs to enter the semi-finals of the Wai Wai Karnali Premier League here on Tuesday.
With their second victory, TAC finished second behind Karnali-XI in Group A. Karnali have already made it to the semis with three wins.
In Group B, all three teams, Nepal APF Club and New Horizon Butwal have four points each, while Mahendranagar Cricket Club have two.
In the day’s second match, TAC posted 178-7 in 20 overs riding on half centuries from Rajesh Pulami and Hari Chauhan before packing Midwest for 71 runs with 20 balls to spare.
Man-of-the-match Pulami struck five fours and three sixes in his 35-ball 57, while Chauhan scored 53 off 37 balls hitting seven fours and a six. Kushal Malla was the pick of the TAC bowlers taking four wickets. In the first match, New Horizon beat Himalayan Cricket Academy by five wickets.
Batting first, Himalayan were bowled out for 92 runs in 18.2 overs, while New Horizon reached the target losing five wickets in 14 overs.
