Pokhara, May 29
Chief Minister Prithivi Subba Gurung of Gandaki Province today said the government had no alternative but to move ahead on the path of economic revolution.
Speaking at a programme on the occasion of Republic Day in Pokhara today, Gurung said the decade-long political revolution was successful. “Therefore, it was necessary to move towards prosperity and development to fulfil people’s aspirations,” he added. He said the federal democratic republic was established and this was the achievement of the people’s movement. “Help from all is needed to implement the constitution,” he said.

Chief Minister Gurung said the culture and working style had to change as per the spirit of the federal state system.
At the programme, Minister of Internal Affair and Law Hari Bahadur Chuman said all the political parties and the public had to help in attaining the national goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali’.
On the occasion, 25 national employees and staffers were felicitated with cash prize and appreciation letters.
Chief Minister Gurung reached Sahidchowk-based Amar Sahid Memorial and offered condolences before the programme. A rally was also taken out from Srijana Chowk to Sahid Chowk through Simalchaur and Ratnachowk on Republic Day.
Chief Minister Gurung, Speaker Netra Nath Adhikari, Provincial Assembly lawmakers, high-level officials and representatives of security departments were present at the rally.
