DAMAULI: Department of Road said road expansion on both sides of the newly constructed Muglin arch bridge over Trishuli river along Prithvi Highway has begun from Thursday.
According to District Traffic Police Office, Tanahun, In-charge and Sub-Inspector Purna Bahadur Adhikari, two dozers have been used for road widening in another side of the bridge in Abukhaireni Rural Municipality of Tanahun district.
“Due to this road expansion project, the vehicular movement will be obstructed in Muglin–Abukhaireni road stretch for overall nine-hours including four hours in day-time from 11 am to 3 pm and five hours from 9 pm to 2 am in the night,” Adhikari shared.
The road will be closed for a maximum of nine hours a day from May 30 to June 13 for road expansion and blacktopping of the road stretch, according to a notice issued by the Department of Road today.
Newly constructed 160-metre arch type bridge over Trishuli river along Prithvi Highway will connect Icchamanakamana Rural Municipality in Chitwan district with Abukhaireni Rural Municipality in Tanahun district.
The bridge is being constructed with 120 million rupees from the World Bank. Construction of the bridge had started in view of the degrading condition of the existing bridge.
