Nepali Army personnel have been deployed for reconstruction of houses destroyed by the windstorm in Debchuli Municipality, East Nawalpur.
The windstorm had blown away the rooftops of 300 houses and completely destroyed 30 houses at wards 7, 8, 9 and 12 of the municipality a week ago.
As many as 35 NA personnel led by captain Surya Bahadur Thapa of Shree No 2 Forest and Environment Security Battalion, Hattikhor, have been deployed for reconstruction of houses in the storm-hit area.
Captain Thapa said the NA team had been working on maintenance of the rooftops, reconstruction of damaged houses and shelter management for victims. He added that the team had been deployed to complete the reconstruction of storm-damaged houses within four days. Chief Administrative Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal of the municipality said Ward No 7 was worst hit by the storm.
The victims thanked the NA team for their humanitarian aid.
Meanwhile, Nawalpur Crusher Entrepreneurs Association has assisted windstorm victims in the municipality. The association reached the municipality office and deposited Rs two lakh in the mayor disaster relief fund. Association Chair Sanjaya Govinda Shrestha handed over the amount to Mayor Purna Kumar Shrestha.
