KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) captain Robin Khatri has been handed a three-match ban for unsportsmanlike conduct on Thursday.
Nepal Basketball Association and Nepal Basketball League banned a total of seven players and officials including Khatri.
Following the cancellation of the league matches for the second day in a row after referees raised concerns over their security, the association and league were forced to take action, a Nepal Basketball League organiser said.
Thursday’s match between TAC and Times International Club was disturbed multiple times following undesirable reactions including aggression and profanity from TAC supporters and team members.
It was reported that the TAC supporters further attempted to manhandle the referees accusing them of biasness after the match was won by Times 103-96.
