Cookery competition held in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: The first National Skill Competition in Cookery was recently organised in Pokhara by Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), National Skill Testing Board, among others with support from Nepal government and Swiss government.

National Skill Competition in CookerySunsari Nepali of Province 3 was the winner of the competition and bagged the cash prize of Rs 100,000, as per a media release.

The event was organised to showcase the talent of those engaged in hospitality sector as well as other talented individuals. The event garnered participation from a total of 163 competitors from all seven provinces and the Friday’s competition saw 14 short-listed contestants battle it out for the grand prize.

Ramesh Thapa from Province 3 secured the second spot and won Rs 75,000 and Om Prasad Dhakal from Province 5 came third and won Rs 50,000. Global Academy of Tourism and Hospitality Education (GATE College) handled the management and coordination as the event partner.
