Dhangadi, June 14
At least four persons were killed and four others, including a cyclist, were injured after an excavator hit an auto-rickshaw in Bangaun of Bhimdatta Municipality, Kanchanpur, today.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyan Bahadur Bista at District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said Krishna Bohora, 28, of Dehimandau, Baitadi, Bina Rijal, 35, of Pokhara and an Indian national Til Prasad, 58, died on the spot while critically injured auto-rickshaw driver Prem Thapa died in the course of treatment in Hulwani Hospital, India.
The accident occurred while the excavator bound for Gaddachauki from Mahendranagar hit the auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. Police said Laxmi Bohora of Dehimandau, Baitadi, and her two-and-a-half-year-old son Bishant, and Santosh Luhar of Beldandi, Kanchanpur, who were travelling in the auto-rickshaw, were injured in the accident.
They have been receiving treatment in Dhangadi-based Seti Zonal Hospital, while injured cyclist Jagadish Parki was being treated in Mahendranagar-based Mahakali Zonal Hospital, said police.
