Minister Gyawali leaving for China

KATHMANDU: Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali is leaving for Dalian, the People’s Republic of China, on Sunday, to attend the 13th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions, to be held from July 1 to 3 there.

This year’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions will be held under the theme of ‘Leadership 4.0: Succeeding in a New Era of Globalisation’. On July 1, Minister Gyawali will address the ‘Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders: Finding a New Footing for the Global Economy’ and also participate in the session on ‘Shaping the G20 Agenda for 2020’. He will address two separate sessions titled ‘Climate Change:

The Next Financial Crisis?’ and ‘A New Balance of Power’ on July 2, stated a press release issued by the MoFA, on Saturday. On the sidelines of the annual meeting of the New Champions, he will also hold meetings with political as well as business leaders of Dalian. Gyawali will leave for Beijing from Dalian on July 3.

He is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with Chinese authorities in Beijing.

During the visit, he will be accompanied by Ambassador of Nepal to the People’s Republic of China Leela Mani Paudyal and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.
