KATHMANDU: Police arrested All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) member Indra Hang Rai on the charge of rape from Gokarneshor Municipality in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Rai, on the pretext of playing Deusi Bhailo, had lured the victim to the residence of his relative in Makalbari and then raped her, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hobindra Bogati, Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range.
Rai was arrested today after the victim filed a report against him at Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha on Monday, said DSP Bogati, adding that police have secured the incident site for further investigation.
The victim is undergoing treatment at a health facility.
Rai is Assistant Secretary at the Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus chapter and central member of ANNFSU.
