Nawalpur, October 14
One person died and another person was injured when a rhino attacked them in Chitwan National Park today.
The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Ash Bahadur Tamang, aka Gore, of Kawasoti-13, Nawalpur. Buddhimaya Gurung, 35, of the same place, was injured in the attack that occurred when local forest users had entered the forest area of Namuna Buffer Zone Community Forest Users’ Group inside Chitwan National Park as the forest user committee had opened the forest for local users to collect firewood for a day today keeping in view the festival time.
While Gurung was injured from the attack, locals recovered Tamang’s body only in the evening. “As Tamang didn’t come out from the forest till late in the afternoon, the locals had gone to search for him; they found his badly mangled body,” said Kawasoti-13 Ward Chairperson Binod Rana.
