Dolakha, November 15
Dolakha District Administration Office has notified local traders to remove huts and houses built by encroaching the road in Tamakoshi of Bhimeshwor Municipality, Dolakha, within a week.
A meeting held at Dolakha District Administration Office last evening decided to ask the locals to remove physical structures built within 15 metres of the road, as the last warning.
The DAO said it would be compelled to use force if the structures were not removed within the given time.
After the bridge over the Tamakoshi River started to wear out, Bridge Division of Department of Roads and Nilgiri National JV had signed a contract to construct a new bridge over the river three years ago. The 75-metre bridge was supposed to be completed at the cost of Rs 100 million, within two years.
After local traders did not vacate the area where bridge was to be constructed, even the foundation laying ceremony of the bridge has yet to take place.
Road Division Office, Charikot, has notified the local traders to remove their structures and vacate the area for five times so far.
