Govt has failed to deliver good governance, says NC’s Sharma

Pokhara, November 25

Nepali Congress Spokesperson Biswo Prakash Sharma today charged that the incumbent government had failed to check escalating violence, inflation and corruption in the country.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Nepal Press Union Kaski, in Pokhara, Sharma alleged the government with two-thirds majority had failed miserably to deliver good governance and development to the people and country.

“Despite its two-thirds majority, people are not satisfied with the government’s performance,” said Sharma, adding, “Nepali Congress has been raising voice against big scandals such as Nirmala rape case, the Ncell tax issue and border encroachment that have taken place in the past 21 months.”

Sharma alleged that Prime minister KP Sharma Oli and foreign minister Pradip Gyawali had been reluctant to settle the bilateral border dispute between Nepal and India despite his party’s full cooperation for the same.

“Why is Prime Minister Oli silent over the border encroachment? Why has he not talked to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for such a long time to resolve the issue?”

Sharma asked.

In a different context, Sharma claimed that his party’s candidate would win the by-election in Kaski Constituency-2 with a margin of 2,400 votes. “Nepali Congress will win this time around as the party has been securing the victory of NC’s honest leader Khemraj Poudel in the polls.”
