Rally held to express solidarity with Dr Govinda KC

Dadeldhura, November 8

Civil Society Dadeldhura took out a rally in support of Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging a fast-unto-death for the past five days, in Dadeldhura today.

Dr KC started his 17th hunger strike in Dadeldhura headquarters Baghkhor,  putting forward seven-point demand on November 4.

Nepali Congress Dadeldhura President and Sudurpashchim Provincial Assembly member Karna Bahadur Malla after the rally warned of waging stern agitation if KC’s demands were not met shortly. He urged the government, political parties and the public to meet KC’s demands as they were in the interest of people and the country.

Civil Society Dadeldhura Chairman Ramesh Joshi said Dr KC had staged the hunger strike for welfare of all Nepalis. He warned of enforcing shutdown if his demands were not addressed.

Dadeldhura Hospital Acting Medical Director Jitendra Kandel said, “If the hunger strike continues for  few more days, Dr KC’s health will deteriorate.”

Dr KC had started the 17th hunger strike at a private home, some 100 metres away from the Dadeldhura District Hospital on November 4.
