LAHAN: Sukhipur municipality has started distributing social security allowance along with relief supplies to the residents facing problems due to lockdown, at their doorsteps.
Mayor Ram Avatar Yadav said, they have started distributing relief materials to families that are hit hard by the coronavirus lockdown. As many as 300 economically marginalised families of Sukhipur-9 have been provided with 30 kg rice and five kg pulse each, informed Yadav.
A target has been set to distribute food worth Rs 500,000 in each ward of the municipality. According to the mayor, they have also started distributing social security allowance at the doorsteps of the senior citizens, single women, persons with disabilities, among others.
Similarly, Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality of Siraha has also started distributing relief to families in need. Chairperson of the rural municipality Santosh Kumar Mahato shared that they have started distributing 25 kg rice, three kg pulse, two packets of salt, two kg sugar, two litres of cooking oil, bath soap to each family based on the details of the marginalised and daily wagers received from the ward.
