KATHMANDU, JANUARY 12
Flights from Tribhuvan International Airport to various districts in the Tarai and remote areas have been affected due to thick fog.
Flights to Biratnagar, Bhadrapur, Janakpur, Simara, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj, among others, have been affected for the past two days. Though domestic flights were affected due to thick fog, international flights are operating as usual, according to airport office.
Spokesperson of Tribhuvan International Airport Dev Chandra Lal Karna said unfavourable weather had disrupted flights to most of the destinations in the Tarai. He added out of 88 flights to the Tarai and hilly areas yesterday, 40 had been cancelled.
There was a schedule of 88 domestic flights today.
Passengers have been facing problems due to cancellation of flights of different airlines, including Buddha Airlines, Yeti Airlines and Shree Airlines.
Flights scheduled to most of the destinations in Tarai areas were not able to take off today due to bad weather.
