KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15
The second meeting of Nepal-Poland Bilateral Consultations Mechanism was held today via video conference.
The two sides discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral ties and cooperation, including views on recent developments in both countries, in the meet.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they stressed the importance of the exchange of high-level visits while encouraging economic partnerships in bilateral trade, investment, technology transfer and tourism sectors.
In the context of increasing Nepali diaspora in Poland, the two sides also discussed people to people contacts, cultural and educational cooperation and potential employment opportunities.
Both sides underscored the importance of cooperation at regional and multilateral levels on common agendas such as SDGs, climate change, UN peacekeeping and disarmament.
Views were also shared on regional cooperation and the challenges posed by COVID-19.
Nirmal Raj Kafle, joint secretary of Europe and the Americas Division in MoFA, and Witold Sobkow, director of Asia and Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland led their respective delegations to the consultations, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
