KAILALI: Dhangadhi airport has been closed for a month to carry out maintenance work in the runway.
According to Dhangadhi Airport Chief Tej Bahadur Bud Thapa, in order to repair 1800-metres long runway, the airport has been closed for a month from today till June 4.
Along with the maintenance of the runway, the parking area will be expanded, Thapa shared.
After the completion of the project, two metres width will be added on both sides of the existing 60metres wide and 1800 metres long runway and accommodate four aircrafts in its parking area.
Likewise, the project is also planning to upgrade its approach lights, other lights, communication sets and other infrastructure of the airport.
The project is estimated to cost around Rs 220 million.
